privacy policy
Every day Tony’s Chocolonely is hard at work helping to make chocolate 100% slave free. We work in direct partnership with cocoa cooperatives. And because we’re serious about people, we tell you exactly which cooperatives we work with and where our chocolate comes from. We’re just as serious about any personal data you give us. Our privacy statement and terms and conditions tell you everything you need to know (impressively official hey? ).
privacy statement
1. Who are we?
We are Tony’s Chocolonely Nederland B.V. You can find us at Polonceaukade 20, 1014 DA in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We’re listed in the Commercial Register under number 60962704. You can email us at mailme@tonyschocolonely.com and you can call us on the choco phone on +31 (0)20 20 512 00.
2. How do we use your data?
We ask you for certain information, such as your name, email address, address, phone number and bank details. If you’re a business customer we also ask for your company registration and VAT numbers. We use this information to process and check the status of your order. We also use it to send you an invoice. Without it, we can’t deliver the chocolate products you buy. We also use it to contact you if, for example, we need to check something about (the delivery of) your order.
3. Tony's and its customers
We like to get to know you, so we can do things the way you want (as much as we can). We enter your contact details and order history in our system. And if you take part in any of our campaigns, we make a note of that too, together with details of any interactions we have with you. That way we can see what products you like, how often you check in and what your interests are. We use this information to let you know how you’re making a difference: how the cocoa farmers are better off thanks to you. We also use it to keep improving and updating our website and our product range, to develop campaigns and tell you about things you’re interested in.
4. Newsletter
We may also use your email address to send you a newsletter with details of our latest products, current offers and other news. We only do this if you ask us to. If you change your mind, just click the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the newsletter. Incidentally, this always applies. We only use your details if you want us to and you can withdraw your permission at any time.
5. Who do we share the data with?
We only use your details to provide services you request. And we only share them with third parties who help us deliver your order, such as distribution centres, delivery services and printers if you order a personalised wrapper. We don’t share your details with third parties for advertising purposes and we won’t bombard you with advertisements for our products on other websites.
6. How long do we keep your data?
We are legally required to keep details entered in our accounting and sales systems for a period of seven years. This means that details such as your name, (email) address, phone number and bank details (and if you’re a business customer your company registration and VAT numbers) will remain on our files for seven years.
7. Questions about your data
If any of your details need to be corrected, you can ask us to do this for you. If you have created an account, you can often correct your details yourself. If you want to view or receive a copy of details we hold on file, we will be happy to oblige. It's sometimes possible for you to have your details removed. You may also be able to object to the use of your data and restrict the ways in which it is used. If you have questions regarding any of this, please email them to mailme@tonyschocolonely.com or call the choco phone on +31 (0)20 20 512 00.
8. Complaints?
We hope you never have any reason to complain about the way we use your data.
But if you do, please email your complaint to mailuk@tonyschocolonely.com or call the Chocophone on +31 (0)20 20 512 00. We will do our best to find a solution. And if that doesn’t work, you can always contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
9. Changes
We’re always improving our products and our website. This may mean that we ask you for other data. It may also change the way we use your data. There may also be changes in the law. If so, we will update our privacy policy. So it’s a good idea to check our privacy policy from time to time so you’re always up to date.
